Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 22, 1989 at the First Christian Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Gladys Jacobs

Gladys Victoria Jacobs, the daughter of Henry and Katie (Minges) Brandt, was born east of Giltner on March 30, 1897, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 19, 1989, at the age of 92 years and 19 days.

When she was a child the family moved northwest of Murphy. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1916, and taught school until her marriage.

On June 23, 1920, she was united in marriage to Cecil Jacobs at her parents home near Murphy. They farmed 5 ½ miles west of Aurora, until 1960, when they moved into Aurora. In 1979, they moved into the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Cecil preceded her in death on August 1, 1988.

Gladys was a member of the Christian Church in Aurora, and belonged to the Royal Neighbors Lodge, the Prairie Center Extension Club, and the Kensington Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Fred, Walter and Ed Brandt, and one infant brother.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 2 sons; Dwain and C. Walter Jacobs, both of Phillips; one daughter Eula Hagemeister of Golden, Colorado; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
