Clifford James

Clifford James, age 84, of Elwood formerly of Aurora died Thursday, November 11, 1999, in Lexington.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday at the Higby Mortuary Chapel. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 P.M., Monday at Higby Mortuary.

OBITUARY: CLIFFORD JAMES

Clifford Milton James, the son of John and Beatrice (Russell) James, was born at Marquette, Nebraska on January 17, 1915 and died in Lexington, Nebraska on November 11, 1999, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 24 days.

He grew up near Marquette and went to country school. He served in the military during World War II.

On February 9, 1957, he was united in marriage to Fern Marie Smith at Kearney, Nebraska. They had a farm north of Aurora.

He enjoyed his family and friends and especially loved his dachshund. He was a member of the VFW.

His parents, two sisters, Cora Nelsen and Eva James, a brother, Cecil James, a son-on-law, Erv Reil, a grandson, Troy Reil and a granddaughter, Tracy Reil preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Fern of Elwood; daughter, LaVonne Tiede and her husband Dan of Elwood, Nebraska; step daughter, Joyce Reil of Lexingon; step son, Harry Lazar, Jr. and wife Mary Jane of Yakima, Washington; grandson, Blake Tiede of Elwood; 3 step grandsons, Craig Reil and his wife Jill Olson-Reil of Omaha, Jason Reil of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Bryan Reil and his wife Shelly of Lincoln, granddaughter, Becka Engert of Elwood; 2 step granddaughters, Tessa Engert of Fremont and Tena Engert of Grand Island; one step great grandson, Parker Reil of Lincoln.
