Linda Janzen
Linda Janzen, age 85, formerly of Aurora, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Bethany Home in Minden, Nebraska. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, April 27th at the Assembly of God Church in Aurora. Rev. Roger Wendt will officiate. Interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: LINDA JANZEN Linda Janzen, the daughter of Abraham and Anna (Huebert) Regier, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on April 25, 1923 and died in Minden, Nebraska on March 22, 2009, at the age of 85. Linda grew up in the Hampton area and attended Hampton Public Schools. Linda accepted Jesus as her Savior and Lord during the Barkman revivals and was baptized on July 27, 1941. She became a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson. Later she became a member of the Assembly of God Church in Aurora where she taught Sunday School and served in the church wherever she was needed. Linda was united in marriage to Daniel Janzen on September 28, 1941 at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson, Nebraska. Following their marriage they farmed north of Hampton for many years. She retired from the Aurora Memorial Hospital after working there many years. Linda was a Grandmother in Kearney with the Head Start program. She enjoyed working with the children. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for the family gatherings, quilting and was an excellent cook and seamstress. Linda enjoyed singing with her brothers and sisters and especially enjoyed singing duets with her sister Martha and her daughter Sandra. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and six brothers. Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, daughter, Sandra (Ron) Hall of Norfolk; son, Gerald (Francine) Janzen of Kearney; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Louise) Regier, Gideon (Norma) Regier and Samuel (Mary Ann) Regier; sister, Irene (Herman) Siering; and other family members and friends. |
