Cora Irene (Beins) Jeffers, age 94, formerly of York, Nebraska and most recently of Kissimmee, Florida died May 25, 2003, at Kissimmee, Florida.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Saturday, June 7th at the First Christian Church, 2121 Delaware Avenue, York, Nebraska. Rev. Ron Johnson will officiate. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Christian Church Pension Fund 130 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204-3659. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. OBITUARY: CORA (BEINS) JEFFERS

Cora Irene Jeffers, was born September 21, 1908 to William H. and Irene (Wind) Beins on a farm northwest of Aurora, Nebraska and died in Kissimmee, Florida on May 25, 2003, at the age of 94.

On June 4, 1939, she was married to Verne Clifford Jeffers (native of Hamilton County) of Lincoln at the Aurora Christian Church.

After graduating from Aurora High School in 1928, she became an elementary school teacher, teaching for 36 years. Mrs. Jeffers taught in Hamilton and Douglas county rural schools; Marquette, Lexington and York City schools.

She was a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, holding a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Education; a member of the First Christian Church of York, where she was an Honorary Elder and an active member of C.W.F.; member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society; an honorary life member of P.T.A.; member of Retired Teachers organization; and past member of Nebraska State Y.W.C.A. board.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and two sisters.

Her survivors include two daughters, Judith Johansen and her husband Eldon of Wilsonville, Oregon and Linda Sims Kreimeyer and her husband Gerald of Kissimmee, Florida; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Maree Shaneyfelt and her husband Wayne of Aurora and a host of other relatives and friends.
