Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 27, 1989 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Helen Jensen

Helen Jensen, the daughter of Nels and Mattie (Hansen) Christensen, was born at Denver, Colorado, on June 15, 1903, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on September 24, 1989, at the age of 86 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

At the age of 3, her family moved to the Aurora and Marquette area, and she attended high school in Marquette.

On April 5, 1922, she was united in marriage to Hans O. Jensen, at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronbrog. They lived north of Kronborg until 1926, when they moved north of Aurora and in 1946 they moved to Aurora. Helen and Hans operated the Jensen Park Swimming Pool and Skating Rink for 20 years. Hans preceded her in death on December 24, 1983.

Helen was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg, and also belonged to the Grant Center Extension Club and the Aurora American Legion Auxiliary #42.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, her husband, and one brother Edwin Christensen.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son, Maynard Jensen of Aurora; 2 daughters, Shirley Hansen of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Grace Potter of Aurora; 2 brothers, Axel Christensen of South Gate, California and Roy Christensen of Hemet, California; one sister Olga Bigger of Aurora; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
