Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 25, 1995 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Richland Cemetery in Marquette, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Sallie Elvina Jensen

Sallie Jensen, the daughter of Thomas and Rhoda (Benson) Timmons, was born at Hordville, Nebraska on September 15, 1895 and died at Aurora, Nebraska on November 23, 1995 at the age of 100 years, 2 months, and 8 days.

She grew up near Hordville and attended district 90 school. She then worked with her family on the farm.

On March 7, 1919 she was united in marriage to Alfred Jensen at Aurora. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1939.

Sallie and her family farmed in the Hordville and Marquette areas. After her husband’s death they lived in Hordville for a year, then moving into Aurora in 1940. She moved into Merrick Manor in Central City in 1979, and moved to Hamilton Manor in Aurora in 1986.

Sallie was a member of Richland EUB Church near Marquette, and later transferred to the Methodist Church in Marquette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 sons, Glen, Oliver, and Raymond Jensen; 1 daughter Irene Jensen, 3 brothers, Benjamin, Amos and Ernest Timmons, and 3 sisters, Ethel Benson, Mary Bowers, and 1 infant sister.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son, Earl Jensen of Hampton, 2 daughters Marian Kroeker of Kearney and Elna Bond of Prineville, Oregon; 16 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren.
