William Jensen

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 30, 1979 at the United Methodist Church. Interment was held at Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: William A. Jensen

William A. Jensen, the son of Christian and Johanna Petersen Jensen, was born near Eldorado, Nebraska on February 2, 1893. His death occurred at home in Aurora, Nebraska on July 27, 1979 at the age of 86 years 5 months and 25 days.

He spent his childhood on his parent’s farm in Clay County and later in Hamilton County, near Stockham. He attended the school near his parent’s home.

On July 2, 1917 he was united in marriage to Agnes Williams. They farmed near Stockham for several years. Two daughters were born to them, Joy Alice and Gwendolyn Mae. His wife preceded him in death on September 17, 1958 and his daughter, Joy, on August 3, 1974.

Mr. Jensen was a member of the Prairie Gem United Brethren Church and later transferred his membership to the Aurora Evangelical United Brethren, the United Methodist Church. He supported the work of the church and other Christian Ministries.

On February 16, 1964 he was married to Marie Shepardson at Aurora. They farmed until 1968, when they retired and moved into Aurora.

Also, preceding him in death, were his parents and three brothers, Edward, Andrew and James Jensen.

Those who remain to cherish his memory, are his wife, Marie; one daughter, Gwendolyn Longo of Aurora; two step daughters, Mrs. Arlene Webb of Wichita, Kansas and Mrs. Gladys Whitehurst of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother, Irvie of Aurora; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Deal of Los Angeles California and Mrs. Edith Bayne of Aurora; five grandchildren, Dona Jo Pier of Holdrege, Nebraska; Dee Traudt of St. Paul, Minnesota; William Longo of Oreville, Washington; Diane Gonzales of Brookly, New York and Tracy Longo of Fayetteville, North Carolina; seven great grandchildren and son-in-law, Don Traudt and his wife, Bea of Aurora and many other relatives and close friends.
