JoAnn Lemkau

JoAnn Lemkau, age 67, of Aurora, died Thursday, January 26, 2006, at Hamilton Manor.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 30th at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. James Corson will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: JOANN LEMKAU

JoAnn Mildred Lemkau, the daughter of Edwin and Martha (Griess) Heftie, was born in Sutton, Nebraska on April 24, 1938 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on January 26, 2006, at the age of 67.

She grew up in Stockham and graduated from Aurora High School. JoAnn attended to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for one year before returning to attend and graduate from Webber?s Beauty School in Grand Island.

JoAnn was married to Dean Lemkau and three children were born to this union: Dawn, Rick and Doyle. JoAnn was raising her family, helping out on the farm along with establishing a beauty shop business. JoAnn had shops in Sutton, Hastings, Harvard, Henderson and Aurora over her career.

JoAnn was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she loved to go dancing.

She was preceded in death by her father and special friend, Don Carrico.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Martha Heftie of Aurora; three children, Dawn (Mark) Maybon of Aurora, Rick (April) Lemkau of Sutton and Doyle (Jennifer) Lemkau of Grand Island and six grandchildren, MaKayla, Shayna and Kamryn Maybon, Jason and Jered Lemkau and Tegan Lemkau and other relatives and friends.
