OBITUARY: Ivan Johnson

Ivan L. Johnson, the son of Charles and Emma Johnson, was born at Stromsburg, Nebraska, on July 6, 1907, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 3, 1990, at the age of 82 years, 6 months, and 27 days.

He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Osceola. At age 2 he was stricken with spinal meningitis, as well as his twin brothers Floyd and Lloyd and brother Grant. In spite of his handicap, he never complained. He graduated from Giltner High School, and worked at the Farmers State Bank in Polk. In 1940, he went to California and worked at the Los Angeles Optical Company, and later he worked as a file clerk for C.M.C. Motor Express for 15 years. After retiring he moved to Reno, Nevada. In 1981, he moved back to Hampton to be closer to his family.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Lloyd; 4 sisters, Esther Francisco, Elsie Wagoner, Molly Deland, and Myrtle in infancy.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his 2 brothers, Grant of Stromsburg and Floyd of York; and 3 sisters, Effie Pierson of Aurora, Nellie Exkildsen of Hampton, and Ruby Kemper of Hermann, Missouri.
