Margaret E. Johnson

Margaret Johnson, age 86, of Aurora, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Memorial Community Care.

Funeral Services were held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 16th at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Rev. Richard Karohl will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: MARGARGET JOHNSON

Margaret E. Johnson, was the daughter of Cleon C. ard Florence M. (Lake) Lichtenberger, born at Bradshaw, Nebraska on November 30, 1921 and passed away on June 12, 2008 in Aurora, Nebraska at the age of 86.

She attended country school and graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1939.

On February 8, 1942, she was united in marriage to Leonard Charles Johnson at Bradshaw. She worked at restaurants and cafes in the towns where Leonard’s railroad career took him: Aurora, Illinois, St. Paul, Minnesota and Omaha. In August 1969, they moved to Marquette area, where they farmed. Leonard passed away on December 21, 2004.

Margaret was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and enjoyed the York Fun Club. She was also a member of the Eagles, the Platt Duetsche and Liederkranz all of Grand Island. Margaret was a very dedicated volunteer at Memorial Community Care.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Lucile M. Junge of York; brother, Sam A. Lichtenberger of Long Beach, California, nieces, nephews and many friends.
