Susie JohnsonFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 12, 1998 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Susie Johnson Susie Alice Johnson, the daughter of William and Susan (Grizzle) Bignell, was born near Morse Bluff, Nebraska, on February 20, 1910, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 10, 1998, at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 20 days. She grew up and attended grade school at Morse Bluff, and graduated from North Bend High School. She attended the University of Nebraska, Midland College and Iowa State College. She taught school in western Nebraska and North Bend. On June 12, 1931, she was united in marriage to Lester Johnson near Morse Bluff. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this year. They resided in several places, and for the past 26 years they have lived in Aurora. She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, belonged to the Dorcas Circle and was active in other church activities. She also belonged to the Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, and one great granddaughter. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Lester of Aurora; two sons, Donald and his wife Barbara of Littleton, Colorado, and James and his wife Naomi of Ralston; four daughters, Polley Olivera and her husband Edward of San Carlos, California, Lillian Oswald and her husband Louis of Aurora, Susan Sipe and her husband Ronald of San Antonio, Texas, and Christian Robertshaw and her husband Jack of Aurora; one brother James Bignell of Bradenton, Florida; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. |
