Alma Jones

Funeral Services were held 1:30 P.M., Friday, September 4, 1992 at the Holdrege First Baptist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Bainbridge Baptist Cemetery in Huntley, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Alma Jones

Alma Lucinda Jones, the daughter of John and Mary (Arehart) Crumb, was born at David City, Nebraska, on February 3, 1895, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on September 1, 1992, at the age of 97 years, 6 months, and 28 days.

In February of 1908, the family moved to Harlan County, Nebraska, northwest of Huntley.

On September 17, 1913, she was united in marriage to Alva Jones, in her parents home near Alma, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1976. They lived on a farm near Alma before moving to Holdrege in 1955. In 1967, she moved into the Good Samaritan Village at Hastings, and in January of 1988, she entered the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

When she was about 16 years of age she was baptized and joined the Bainbridge Baptist Church, where she was an active member until they sold the farm and moved to Holdrege, where she was a member of the Holdrege First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Alfred Leslie, a brother, Earnest and a sister Ada.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are three sons, Melvin and Russell, both of Lincoln, Dalton of San Antonio, Texas, a daughter Winifred McCord of Oquawka, Illinois; a sister Alta Crumb of Aurora; 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
