Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 18, 1994 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Jerry Jones

Geraldine E. “Jerry” Jones, the daughter of R. Vernon and Edna (Mader) Rice, was born at Chapman, Nebraska, on February 7, 1918, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 15, 1994, at the age of 76 years, and 8 days.

She was raised in Chapman and Grand Island, and graduated from Grand Island High School.

On May 14, 1938, she was united in marriage to Lawrence W. Jones at the First Baptist Church in Grand Island. After their marriage they lived in Hampton, Grand Island, and moved to Aurora in December of 1951. She and her husband owned Jones Motor Company in Aurora for more than 30 years.

“Jerry” was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, was active in the Women’s Society and a morning cirlce. She was also a member of the Aurora Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #93, and had served as past matron, she also belonged to the Merry Janes Extension Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Lawrence of Aurora; one son Larry W. Jones and his wife Debby; one daughter Sally Roblee and her husband Wayne, all of Aurora; 2 brothers, Vernon Rice Jr., of Chapman and Orlen Rice of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
