Lorraine Jones

Lorraine Jones, age 86, of Aurora, died Monday, September 24, 2007, at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 28th at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Chris Kester Beyer will officiate. Interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. The family will greet friends from 5 – 7. Memorials may be made in care of the family. OBITUARY: LORRAINE JONES

Lorraine Driewer Jones, the daughter of Otto and Martha (Opfer) Driewer, was born in Bradshaw, Nebraska on September 21, 1921 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 24, 2007, at the age of 86, with her family by her side.

She grew up in Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School.

Lorraine was united in marriage to Edward H. Jones on November 19, 1940 in Irvin, Iowa. They moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1940, where Lorraine wrote for the Stoughton Wisconsin Newspaper. They returned to Nebraska in 1961, where Lorraine worked as a cook, but her life work was taking care of her family. Ed passed away on January 14, 2007.

Lorraine was a member of the Hampton United Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Marge Jones of Oxford, Wisconsin, Gary Jones of Lincoln and Kristie (Jones) Morgan of Basking Ridge, New Jersey; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and brother, Bud Driewer of McFarland, Wisconsin.
