Victor Jones, Sr.Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 17, 1998 at the Aurora First Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Victor Jones, Sr. Victor John Jones, Sr., the son of Kenneth and Sophia (Seberger) Jones, was born at Columbus, Nebraska, on January 25, 1934, and died at his home at Twin Lakes, east of Central City, Nebraska, on January 14, 1998, at the age of 63 years, 11 months, and 19 days. His mother was killed in a train accident when he was three years old. He grew up and attended country school south of York, and attended Hampton High School. On August 15, 1954, he was united in marriage to Carol Sims, at Aurora. They made their home in Aurora, and he worked for the Farmers Union Creamery for 11 years, and owned Jones Construction for 17 years. He was employed at Monforts in Grand Island for 14 and a half years. He was baptized in the Catholic faith, and was later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Later he and his two daughters were baptized in the Aurora First Christian Church, where he remained a member until his death. He was also a member of the Grand Island Eagles Club. “Vic” and his wife Carol moved to Twin Lakes east of Central City, where they made their home, and he enjoyed all the lake activities and being there with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Carol of Central City; two sons, Owen of Grand Island and Victor Jr., of Aurora; two daughters, Melody Austin of Grand Island, and Theresa Hart of McCook; one brother Wayne of Moorpark, California; 3 sisters, Verleen Ellis of York, Rozella Sackschewsky of Eustis, and Judy Fye of Aurora; 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, and his step-mother Oddetta Jones of Aurora. |
