Emma JorgensenFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 19, 1998 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg, Nebraska. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. OBITUARY: Emma Jorgensen Emma Dorthea Jorgensen, the daughter of Hans and Anna (Olsen) Lagoni, was born on the family farm at Kronborg, Nebraska, on July 20, 1905, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 15, 1998, at the age of 92 years, 6 months, and 25 days. She grew up and received her education at Kronborg, where she grew to womanhood. On December 24, 1928, she was united in marriage to Jorgen Peter Jorgensen at Kronborg. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1979. After their marriage, they lived on a farm at Gretna, Nebraska for 8 years, and in 1937, they moved to a farm at Aurora. In 1964, they retired and moved into Aurora. In 1990, she moved into her present home, and on November 11, 1997, she entered Memorial Community Care at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora. Emma was baptized on September 3, 1905, and confirmed on April 1, 1920. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg, and was active in the ladies aid and the American Legion Auxiliary as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Pete and Harold Lagoni; 4 sisters, Annette Hansen, Anna Christensen, Viola Christensen and Alma Jensen; a daughter-in-law Mary Sue Jorgensen, and a grad daughter Denise Jorgensen. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 5 sons, Holger and his wife Rita of Grand Junction, Colorado, Otto and his wife June of Aurora, Robert and his wife Ann of Aurora, George and his wife Jerry of Houston, Texas, and John of Casper, Wyoming; one daughter Ann Mann and her husband Bill of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. |
