Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 29, 1987 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Martin Joyce

Martin Joseph Joyce, the son of Walter and Catherine (Sanders) Joyce, was born at Harvard, Nebraska, on December 28, 1902, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 26, 1987, at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 28 days.

He received his education in the Harvard Public Schools.

On December 2, 1933, he was united in holy matrimony to Hilda Pope at Harvard.

Martin had farmed all his life, retiring in 1983, and in the spring of 1984 they moved to their present home in Aurora. He then helped his son-in-law at the Coast to Coast Store in Aurora.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marcellus, Walter, William and Lawrence; one sister Wilma, one infant brother and 2 infant sisters.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Hilda; one son Gary of Aurora; 4 daughters, Marilyn Adam of Ravenna, Bonita Wendt of Aurora, Rose Marie Warren of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Margaret Schneider of Aurora. 4 brothers, Myron of Heartwell, Vincent of Bonsal, California, Kenneth of Oxnard, California, and Joe of Long Island, New York; 5 sisters, Rose Peter of Sutton, Eileen Sigrist of Hastings, Catherine Zane of Hemet, California, Loretta Cappel of McCook, and Charlotte MacFee of Lebannon, Kansas. 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
