Elinor Keller

Elinor Keller, age 85, formerly of Aurora, died Wednesday night, March 3, 2004, in Lincoln.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 8th at the First Christian Church in Aurora. Pastor Sam Fox and Pastor Jane McMahill will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at 1:00 P.M. at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. OBITUARY: ELINOR KELLER

Elinor Jane Keller, the daughter of Levi Leo and Lula Anna (DeBusk) Taylor, was born at Sargent, Nebraska on December 28, 1918 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on March 3, 2004, at the age of 85.

She grew up in Sargent and when she was six the family moved to a family farm southwest of York. Elinor attended several country schools and graduated from Polk High School Class of 1936, where she was valedictorian. After graduation she taught school for several years and then became a secretary at the York County Extension Office.

Elinor was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Keller on February 14, 1945 at her parent’s home at York, Nebraska. Four children were born to this union. In March of 1947, they moved to a farm in Hamilton County. Lawrence passed away on November 20, 1976. Elinor lived on the farm until 1979 when she moved to Aurora. In the spring of 2000, she moved to Lincoln to be closer to her daughter.

Elinor was a member of the First Christian Church in Aurora, where she was very active as Circle Leader, President of the C.W. F., member of church choir and Sunday school teacher for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Floyd Taylor and an infant brother and sister.

Those left to cherish his memory are her four children, Shirley (David) Wilcox of Lincoln, Dale Keller of Louisville, Colorado, Duane Keller of Aurora and Gary (Joanna) Keller of Centennial, Colorado; a sister, Margaret Adkisson of Lincoln and 4 grandchildren, Ryan Wilcox and his wife Janée Gagner Wilcox of Lincoln, Eric Wilcox and his fiancée Corrin Sommers of Los Angeles, California, Steve Keller and Lindsey Keller both of Centennial, Colorado.
