Miriam Kemper

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 27, 1987 at the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Miriam Kemper

Miriam Edith Kemper, the daughter of Frithiof and Edith (Eskilson) Hagelin, was born at Omaha, Nebraska, on December 9, 1899, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 25, 1987, at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 16 days.

She grew up and went to school in Omaha, and after graduating worked in Omaha as a secretary.

On June 6, 1930, she was united in marriage to Carlton Kemper at Omaha. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1975.

After marriage they moved to Pomona, California and in 1935 they returned to Omaha. In 1938, they moved to Aurora, and she worked for several Aurora business firms, until 1954, when she became owner and operator of Hamilton County Abstract Company, which she ran until her retirement in 1974. In May of 1986 she entered the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Miriam was a member of the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church, and was active in church circles. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, and knitting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Earl Hagelin; 2 sisters Adele Johnson and Gladys Moore.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her daughter Edith Scott and son-in-law Lee Scott of Aurora, her daughter Judy Kemper of Grand Island; grandchildren, Richard and Janet Scott of Hastings, Kim and Brian Crabtree of Grand Island, and David and Kirsten Scott of Scottsdale, Arizona. Great-grandchildren, Ben and Heather Crabtree and Drew Scott. Two brothers-in-law Fritz Johnson and Harry Moore; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
