Charlotte KillionFuneral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 20, 1998 at Phillips United Methodist Church in Phillips, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Phillips Cemetery. OBITUARY: Charlotte Killion Charlotte Mary Killion, the daughter of Theodore and Alice (Scott) Roberts, was born on a farm one mile south of Murphy, Nebraska, on December 17, 1895, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 17, 1998, at the age of 102 years, and 2 months. She grew up and attended rural schools near Murphy and graduated from Aurora High School in 1915. She then attended Kearney State College, where she received her teaching certificate, and taught rural school around Aurora. On April 20, 1919, she was united in marriage to Robert D. Killion at her parents home south of Murphy. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1986. After their marriage they farmed south of Murphy for the rest of their life. She entered the Memorial Community Care at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora on August 6, 1993. Charlotte was a member of the Phillips United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Phillips Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #204. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers and one sister. Those who remain to cherish her memory are a son James Killion of Omaha, her daughter Verla Ketchum and her husband Bob of Aurora, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. |
