Robert Killion

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 12, 1986 at the Phillips United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Phillips Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Robert Killion

Robert D. Killion, the son of Robert H. and Dora (Gobel) Killion, was born near Phillips, Nebraska, on March 6, 1893, and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska, on September 10, 1986, at the age of 93 years, 6 months, and 4 days.

He was raised near Phillips where he attended country school. Later he attended Business College at York.

On April 20, 1919, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Roberts, near Murphy.

Bob joined the Navy on May 1, 1918, and served his country during World War I, I France, and was discharged September 30, 1921. After his discharge he returned to Phillips where he farmed for 2 years, after his marriage, and then moved to a farm south of Murphy where he lived the rest of his life.

Bob was a member of the Phillips United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Keystone Masonic Lodge #62, AF & AM for 72 years, and had been worshipful master, and had received the Jordan Medal. He also belonged to the Phillips Chapter #204 of Eastern Star and was Past Patron. He was also a member of World War I Barracks Chapter and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mrs. Joe Milsap and one brother Lemuel Killion.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Charlotte, one son, James R. Killion of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter Verla Ketchum of Aurora; 2 sisters, Hazel Killion of Aurora, and Margaret Collins of New Samerna Beach, Florida; 3 grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
