Roger KingstonFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 10, 1987 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Roger Kingston Gail Roger Kingston, the son of Bruce and Doris (Meese) Kingston, was born at Hansen, Nebraska, on April 21, 1933, and passed away at Lincoln, Nebraska, on March 6, 1987, at the age of 53 years, 10 months, and 15 days. They moved to Aurora when he was a child, later moving to Hampton. He was a graduated of Hampton High School and worked for Bredthauer Motors in Broken Bow. He later worked for Capitol Bridges in Lincoln and in September of 1952, went to work for the Hamilton Telephone Company. On November 9, 1952, he married Carol Jean Lentz at Aurora. From 1953 to 1955, he was in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. After the Korean Conflict they lived in Aurora where he worked for the phone company. He was a life member of the Aurora V.F.W. Post and was past post commander. He also was a member of the American Legion Post in Hampton and the Eagles Aerie in Central City. He was preceded in death by his father, and one son Michael Gail. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Jean; one daughter, Dorothy Schroeder of Grand Island; one brother Jimmy D. Kingston, of Lancaster, California; 2 sisters, Melva Jean Haack of Bradshaw and Grace Pizzalato of Central City; his mother and step-father, Kee and Doris Samples of Aurora; one granddaughter, Kristi Michelle Schroeder, and many other relatives and close friends. |
