Arthur Klawonn, age 88, of Aurora died Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, November 30th at Zion Lutheran Church northeast of Hampton. Rev. Loren Cooper will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. OBITUARY: ARTHUR KLAWONN

Arthur Paul Klawonn, the son of Bernard Paul and Alma (Salchow) Klawonn, was born on a farm in Western York County, Nebraska on August 23, 1914 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on November 26, 2002, at the age of 88.

Arthur was united in marriage to Jennie Marie Gustafson on April 18, 1937 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton. They lived in Bayard, then farmed in the Hampton and Marquette area for 43 years before retiring to Aurora in 1976. Marie passed away on January 20, 2002.

Arthur was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Hampton, where he was baptized as an infant and confirmed at the age of 14.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Bernard Klawonn, grandson, Timothy Klawonn and a sister, Melvina Hilligas.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Alma Rohde and her husband Dale, daughter-in-law, Lova Klawonn; 6 grandchildren, Barb Bliss and her husband Ron, Kent Klawonn and his wife Sara, Brenda Klawonn, Kevin Klawonn and his wife Sara, Darwin Rohde and his wife Jennifer and Darrin Rohde and his wife Shari and 9 great-grandchildren, Miles, Jonathan & Zachariah Bliss, Brant, Amanda, Moyra & Dietrich Klawonn and Abigail & Kaitlynn Rohde. He is also survived by two brothers, Harold Klawonn and his wife Malinda and Willard Klawonn and his wife Wanda and two sisters, Dora McHenry and Elva Wall and her husband Harold and many other relatives and friends.
