Mary KluckFuneral Services were held 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 16, 1994 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery. OBITUARY: Mary Kluck Mary Rose Kluck, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Moder) Chott, was born at Rock Creek, Missouri, on September 4, 1898, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on May 12, 1994, at the age of 95 years, and 8 days. The family moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1904, where she attended school. In 1916, the family moved to Buena Vista, Texas, and the next year they moved back to St. Louis. In 1919, the family moved to Yakima, Washington, and Mary worked various jobs, including Ditter’s Grocery and St. Elizabeth Hospital, and attended Yakima Business College. On July 6, 1925, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Emil Kluck, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Yakima. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1970. They lived in Yakima until 1929, when they and their 2 children moved to Aurora, where Emil had secured employment at the Farmers Union Creamery. They resided in Aurora the rest of their life. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora, and was always active in church work, including St. Mary’s Altar Society and Circle. She was also active in the Priscilla Club, the Garden Club and served in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Her hobbies and interests included card playing, traveling, her many friends, and especially her family. In 1989, she attended the first Moder-Chott family reunion organized in her honor as the last in her family, in Yakima, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Emil, 3 brothers, and one sister. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, Emil Kluck and his wife Joan of Yakima, Washington, James and his wife Mary Jane of Huntington Beach, California; 2 daughters, Rosemary Wilson and her husband Bob of Omaha, and Kathleen Sebesta of Ralston; 16 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. |
