Herbert Klute

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 9, 1987 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Herbert Klute

Herbert Walter Klute, the son of Fredrick and Caroline (Kath) Klute, was born on a farm northeast of Hampton, Nebraska, on February 24, 1907, and passed away at his home in Hampton, Nebraska, on October 6, 1987, at the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 12 days.

He attended Zion Lutheran School and Concordia High School in Seward. He was baptized on March 24, 1907, by Pastor Moellering at Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton. On March 28, 1921, he was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith by Pastor C.F. Brommer.

On April 28, 1935, he was united in marriage to Julia Jones, at Petit Jean Mountain, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on November 11, 1945. On April 6, 1947, he married Joy Bailey at Hampton.

Herb was a farmer and cattle feeder in the Hampton area for many years. He was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton, and he served as church organist for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, brothers, Arnold and Walter, and a sister Irma Lohmeier.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Joy; 3 sons, Fred of Hampton, Dale of Greeley, Colorado and Dan of Holdrege; 6 daughters, Caroline Dittberner of St. Paul, Minnesota, Ruth Heins of Clay Center, Linda Creager of Stillwater, Minnesota, Judy Johnson of West Point, Betty Blase of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Sandra Young of Friend. 2 brothers, Karl and Art of Holyoke, Colorado; 2 sisters, Lily McGinley of Bozeman, Montana, and Esther Hutsell of Aurora; 31 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
