Charles KrausFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 17, 1984 at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Charles Kraus Charles August Kraus, the son of Fred and Elizabeth (Ushmann) Kraus, was born on March 10, 1886, in Sherman County, Nebraska, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 13, 1984, at the age of 98 years, 9 months and 3 days. His early years were spent in Sherman County, where he attended country school. He did farm work near Aurora, and on February 15, 1911, he was united in marriage to Ada H. Schertz at Aurora. She preceded him in death on October 22, 1951. They farmed southwest of Aurora, and in 1923 they moved to a farm east of Aurora, where he lived until 1958. On November 26, 1958, he married Estella Zehr and they moved into Aurora. For the past 10 years he has resided at the Hamilton Manor. Charlie was a member of the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora, and an honorary member of the Hamilton County Agricultural Society. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and 5 brothers and 6 sisters. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Estella, one daughter Eleanor Springer of Aurora; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ezra Kremer and Mrs. Loren Hunnicutt, both of Aurora, one brother Harry Kraus of Sargeant, one sister Amelia Strohl of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; 3 granddaughters, 4 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. |
