Maurice KremerFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 14, 1990 at Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Maurice Kremer Maurice Albert Kremer, the son of Benjamin and Mattie (Rediger) Kremer, was born at Milford, Nebraska, on August 31, 1907, and passed away on February 10, 1990, at Hastings, Nebraska, following a bout with cancer, at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 9 days. When he was 5 years old his family moved to Aurora, where he attended school, and then he took a short course at the Agricultural College at the University of Nebraska. On June 12, 1932, he was united in marriage to Alice Troyer at Aurora. They farmed, and Maurice was a pioneer in Deepwell Irrigation in Hamilton County. Maurice served on the Aurora School Board for 11 years, and also served on the Hamilton County Extension Board, and belonged to the Aurora Rotary Club. He served in the Nebraska Legislature for 20 years, and was Chairman of the Public Works Committee. He was on the Board of Trustees of the Nebraska Groundwater Foundation, received the Aurora Chamber of Commerce Map Maker Award, and numerous awards and honors for his involvement in community and state affairs. Maurice was a member of the Aurora Pleasant View Bible Church, where he served as deacon and taught Sunday School for most of his adult years. He also served on the executive board of Back to the Bible in Lincoln, and the Open Door Mission of St. Louis. He belonged to Gideons International for 40 years, and served as both international Chaplain and state president during this time. He was preceded in death by his parents. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Alice of Aurora; 2 sons, Kenneth and Robert both of Aurora; 2 daughters, Ardys Roszhart of Aurora and Beth Stucky of Jefferson City, Missouri; one brother Erza of Aurora; one sister Verna Wadell of Aurora; 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends. |
