Lloyd KruseFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, August 12, 1987 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Lloyd “Bud” Kruse Lloyd Hollis “Bud” Kruse, the son of Charles and Christine (Breck) Kruse, was born on his parents homestead in Troy, Iowa, on April 4, 1916, and passed away at Hastings, Nebraska, on August 8, 1987, at the age of 71 years, 4 months, and 4 days. He received his early schooling at Troy, Iowa, and then moved with his parents to Bloomfield, Iowa, where he attended high school. In 1936, he moved to Aurora, Nebraska, where he was employed by the C.B. & Q. Railroad. He started his career as a baggage clerk, and later was a cashier, for a total of 42 years with the railroad. He was united in marriage to Mary Reisinger of rural Aurora, on May 15, 1938, at Aurora. To this marriage was born 4 sons and 2 daughters. Bud and his family were baptized and joined the E.U.B. Church in Aurora, on April 17, 1949, and at the time of his death he was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks Local No. 471; the Platt-Deutch Society and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Grand Island. Upon his retirement in June 1978, Lloyd was able to further pursue his hobbies of model railroading, woodworking, traveling, and enjoying his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Lyle; 2 brothers, Veral and Harold; 2 sisters, Inez Hining and Elma Kroeger, and one granddaughter Kristi Lea Kruse. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary; 3 sons, Gerald of Sunland, California, and Donald and Roger of Aurora. 2 daughters, Phylis Purdy of Phillips and Barbara Epp of Aurora; 2 brothrs, Lyle of Bloomfield, Iowa and Otto of Beardstown, Illinois; 2 sisters, Edith Kroeger of Ida Grove, Iowa and Helen Good of Bloomfield, Iowa; 23 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives, friends, and fellow railroad workers. |
