Alice LambertFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 17, 1994 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Alice Lambert Alice Dora Lambert, the daughter of Harry Leroy and Lucy (Deaver) Hoisington, was born at WaKeeney, Kansas, on March 28, 1908, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 14, 1994, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 16 days. She grew up in Kansas, attended high school in Fullerton, Nebraska, and attended Hastings Teachers College for 2 years. In 1929 she moved to North Star, Nebraska, and later to North Platte. She had taught school for a short time. On July 13, 1937, she was united in marriage to Robert Lambert, Sr., at Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1978. After their marriage they lived in North Star form 1940 to 1950, then Genoa, from 1950 to 1951, when they moved to Aurora. Alice was employed by Sena Larson at Larson’s Nursing Home in Aurora, had worked at the bakery in Aurora for several years, and had been an Avon representative for several years after retiring. For the past 7 years she had resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Dorcas Circle. She was also a member of an extension club and served as president for one year. She was also very active in the Aurora Senior Citizens group. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 infant grandsons. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her sons, James of Hastings, Robert of Ponderosa, New Mexico, Harry of Loomis, California, and Thomas of Giltner; one daughter Darlene Brewer of Aurora; one sister Elsie Miller of Cody, Wyoming; 14 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. |
