Erma LantzerErma Lantzer, age 91, of Stromsburg, formerly of Aurora died Saturday morning, January 15, 2000, at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Health Center in Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday afternoon at the United Methodist Church. Dr. Heung-Gyu Kim will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. The casket will be open one hour prior to the service at the church. OBITUARY: ERMA LANTZER Erma Mae Amelia Lantzer, the daughter of Harvey and Lora (Garwood) Lantzer, was born north of Aurora in Hamilton County, Nebraska on June 24, 1908 and died in Osceola, Nebraska on January 15, 2000, at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 21 days. In 1924 the family moved to a farm at Ansley, where she graduated from Ansley High School in 1926. In 1933, the family moved back to Aurora. She worked in the Douglas Market for 15 years. After her fathers death in March 1945 she and her mother made their home together. In 1951, they moved to Colorado Springs, to be near her brother Cecil who passed away in 1973. Erma’s mother passed away in 1961. While living in Colorado she did clerical and office work until she retired. In August 1979, she returned to Aurora to live and be near her sister, Neta and old friends. Neta passed away in 1988. When a young girl she joined the Salem Evangelical Church. When living at Ansley her membership was transferred to the Methodist Church. She transferred her membership to United Brethren when she returned to Aurora, until they joined the Methodist. She was a member of the Mary Ruth Circle & Dorcas Circle, SOS Church and Crossroads Birthday Club where she had held offices at different times. Her parents, sister, Neta Cline and brother, Cecil Lantzer preceded her in death. She is survived by two nieces and two nephews and their families and cousins. |
