Dorothy Larson
Dorothy Larson, age 66, of Aurora, died Thursday, December 20, 2007, at her home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 26th at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Rev. Richard Karohl will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. OBITUARY: DOROTHY LARSON Dorothy Grace Larson, the daughter of Lionel Smalley and Grace (Reinecke) Neeman, was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on July 23, 1941 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on December 20, 2007, at the age of 66. She grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High. On June 14, 1959, she was united in marriage to William Jacob Larson at the Methodist Church in Grand Island. Over the next few years, they raised their own crops and animals in the several places that they lived. Dorothy raised the family and over the years worked at Memorial Hospital in Aurora, then Lippincott’s in Aurora and Wheeler’s in Grand Island. She drove a school bus for over nine years for Aurora and began working at Arby’s in 2003. William passed away on December 6, 2007. Dorothy was a great cook and did a tremendous amount of canning from the huge garden the family would raise. She loved animals, and especially had a soft spot for her cats. Dorothy was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, husband, William and son, Russell Larson. Those left to cherish her memory are her five children, Rita Houskie of Lincoln, William Jay (Jimmie Jo) Larson of Bradshaw, Valerie Sims of Grand Island, Edward (Rhonda) Larson of Arcadia and Justin (Doreen) Larson of Castle Rock, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; mother, Grace Neeman of Grand Island and a brother, Dr. Larry (Kathy) Smalley of Huntsville, Alabama. |
