Eileen Larson
Eileen Larson, age 92, of Aurora, died Monday, December 26, 2005, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 28th at the Monroe Evangelical Free Church near Murphy. Rev. Mark Dunham will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: EILEEN LARSON Eileen Marie Larson, the daughter of Henry T. and Mabel A. (Engstrom) Hugoson, was born in East Chain Township, Martin County, Minnesota on July 7, 1913 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on December 26, 2005, at the age of 92. She grew up on the family farm and was confirmed at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church. Eileen graduated from a St. Paul Hairdressers School. She worked at Gillespie's Beauty Shop with a friend, Laura Roforth. On September 27, 1941, she was united in marriage to Warren G. Larson of Holdrege, Nebraska at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church. They moved to Rockford, Illinois to work in a Defense Plant. When Warren was drafted into the Service, they were stationed in Georgia. When Eileen's father was killed in a farm accident, Warren was given a farm-related discharge from the Army to come home to farm. They moved to Nebraska, March 1, 1952 where they continued to farm. In 1968, Warren and Eileen owned and operated Larson Restaurant on Hwy 34 until 1976. Warren passed away on February 28, 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Margaret Jensen and Doris Brockman. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cynthia (Ron) Bryan of Loup City; two grandsons, Peter Miller of Aurora and John Bryan of Hastings; godson, Joe Friedrichsen of Omaha; brother, Leighton Hugoson of East Chain, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews. |
