Mabel Larson

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 12, 1984 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Mrs. Mabel Larson

Mabel L. Larson, the daughter of Carl G. and Mary Nelson England, was born near Phillips, Nebraska, on May 26, 1900. Her death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on November 8, 1984, at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 12 days.

Her entire lifetime was spent in Hamilton County, where she received her education in the public schools of this vicinity. She attended the University of Nebraska one summer and taught rural schools in the are for two years.

She was confirmed as a young teenager at the West Monroe Evangelical Free Church.

On June 21, 1922, she was united in marriage to Will Larson. They farmed in Grant Precinct until their retirement in 1960, when they moved into Aurora. Her husband preceded her in death on June 6, 1974. She continued to reside in Aurora.

While residing on the farm she attended the Richland United Brethren Church until it was destroyed by fire.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Clyde and Clarence England and two sisters, Alice and Ruth England and one grandson Steven Waak.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are one son, William Larson of Denver, Colorado; daughter, Mrs. Gene Waak of Cheyenne, Wyoming; two sisters, Edith and Viola England both of Lincoln, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Jim Larson of Amsterdam, Holland and Joann Larson of Broomfield, Colorado; two great-grandsons, Steven and Shane Waak of Newcastle, Wyoming and other relatives and many close friends.

Her family will remember her best for her active mind and keen interest in people and academic subjects until the time of her death. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends who knew and loved her.
