OBITUARY: Richard Larson

Richard Loyal Larson, the son of Roy and Lucille (Mumby) Larson, was born at Tracy, Minnesota, on September 24, 1944, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 20, 1998, at the age of 53 years, 4 months, and 26 days.

He grew up and attended school in rural Murray County, thru the 8th grade, and graduated from Balaton High School in 1962. He served his country in the Vietnam War from 1962 until 1966. He received an Associate Degree from SSU College in Marshall, Minnesota.

He worked for Northwestern Bell in Marshall and Deluth, Minnesota. In 1987, he started working for AT&T in Grand Island. For the past several years he has resided in Aurora.

He was a life member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Balaton, belonged to the Communication workers of America Local #7150, and had a love of music, flying, and starting at an early age an interest in telephone pioneers.

He is survived by a daughter Christine, a step-son Barry both of Deluth, Minnesota; 2 brothers George of Balaton, Minnesota, and David of Bonner, Montana; 3 sisters Donna Stack of Garvin, Minnesota, and Lynn Dobbelair and LaVonne Hyde of Katy, Texas; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
