Thomas Launer

Tom Launer, age 57, of Aurora, died Monday, September 27, 2010, at Memorial Hospital.

Graveside Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 1st at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: THOMAS LAUNER

Thomas Delmar Launer, the son of James and Beverly (LaMonte) Launer was born in Montebello, California on February 10, 1953 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 27, 2010, at the age of 57.

He grew up in California and the family later moved to Oregon, where he graduated from high school and went on to attend a junior college for business. Tom served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was stationed in Vietnam and Japan as part of his tour.

On October 4, 1984, he was united in marriage to Kathy Hain at McCook. They lived in Lincoln; where Tom worked in construction, mainly as a drywaller. They moved to Aurora in 2005.

Tom loved to go fishing, watch sports, fix things around the house and play with their animals. He also loved spending time with their daughter, Leah.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy of Aurora and daughter, Leah (Allen) Bartu of Lincoln. He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers.
