Conrad Leach

Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 30, 1995 at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Interment was held at the McCain Cemetery in Stapleton, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Conrad Leach

Conrad Allan Leach, the son of John and Alice (Lawyer) Leach, was born at Big Horn, Wyoming, on April 21, 1901, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 27, 1995, at the age of 93 years, 9 months, and 6 days.

His early years were spent in Wyoming, where he attended school.

On June 15, 1927, he was united in marriage to Mildred Johnson at Broken Bow, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on February 23, 1976. After their marriage they moved to South Dakota. In 1934, he moved his family back to Nebraska, and lived on various farms in the Custer County area. In 1956, they mobed to North Platte where he was employed by the Nebraska Experimental Station until his retirement in 1966. He continued to make his home in North Platte until moving to Aurora I 1986.

Conrad was a long time and faithful member of the United Methodist Church, enjoyed singing in the choir, and through his life his church and family were most important to him. He also had a special interest in horses and enjoyed his flower gardens. Up until the last couple of years he sent cards to all his grandchildren on their birthdays.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Dale, and 4 brothers, Milton, Bob, Charles, and Bill.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his 5 sons, Robert of Aurora, Lavern of Danville, California, Ed of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Rev. Darrel of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, and Paul of Seguin, Texas; 4 daughters, Donna Paden of Elkhorn, Nola Rosentrater of Arvada, Colorado, Carol Traube of Chandler, Arizona, and Joyce Baars of Ogallala; one brother John of Rapid City, South Dakota; one sister Miriam Brower of Arnold; 22 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.
