Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 28, 1986 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Grace Lewis

Grace Edith Lewis, the daughter of Louis and Evaline (Bartholomew) Pillard, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on September 28, 1897, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 24, 1986, at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 26 days.

Her youth was spent on a farm near Hampton, later she moved into Hampton, and then into Aurora, where she graduated from high school.

On June 8, 1921, she was united in marriage to Charles O. Lewis, at Aurora. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1976.

After their marriage they lived in Marquette for 17 years, then lived in Grand Island for 1 year, and Fullerton for 4 years. They then moved to Kearney for 30 years, and in 1971 they moved to Florida. In 1973 they returned to Aurora, where she has since resided.

Grace was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters, and one brother.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 2 sons; Leland of Leesburg, Florida and Dan of Arlington, Virginia; one daughter, Phyllis Meyen of Springfield, Virginia; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
