Hattie LeymasterFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, April 25, 1988 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Hattie Leymaster Hattie Antinette Leymaster, the daughter of Frank and Lottie (McClain) McCarty, was born October 16, 1898, at Aurora, Nebraska, and passed away April 21, 1988, at Aurora, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 5 days. She grew up and attended school in the Aurora area. On June 16, 1915, she was united in marriage to Roy Leymaster at Grand Island. They farmed most of their married life in the Phillips area with the exception of from 1940-1945, when they lived in Minnesota and Oregon. They returned to the farm and remained there until 1960, when they retired and moved into Aurora. Roy preceded her in death on November 27, 1978. In December of 1985 she entered the Memorial Community Care Center in Aurora. Hattie was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and was president of the Dorcas Circle. She was also a member of the Happy Hour Extension Club. She made rag rugs for 15 years, until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one infant brother, and one sister. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 3 sons, Dean of Dixon, Missouri, Dale of Gresham, Oregon and Boyd of Aurora. One daughter Betty Jean Smith of Redding, California; 2 brothers, Winfred McCarty of Basking Ridge, New Jersey and Wayne McCarty of Joshua Tree, California; 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. |
