Arlene Lindquist
Arlene Lindquist, age 84, of Aurora, died Friday, December 3, 2010, at Memorial Community Care. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 6th at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel. Rev. Mary Scott will officiate. Interment will be in the Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. OBITUARY: ARLENE LINDQUIST Arlene Lindquist, the daughter of Henry Andrew and Emmaline Elizabeth (Barber) Hayes, was born in Utica, Nebraska on March 11, 1926 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on December 3, 2010, at the age of 84. Arlene and her twin sister, Darlene, at the age of five were adopted in 1931 during hard economic time to Mr. & Mrs. Carl Lindquist. They moved to their farm southwest of Marquette. Arlene attended Country School District 56 at Shady Nook. Arlene moved to Marquette in 1961, where she worked at the two cafes in town. In 1980, Arlene moved to Aurora where she worked at a café in Aurora, before working in the kitchen at the Hamilton Manor for 21 ˝ years. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Harold, Robert and Virgil Hayes and William Sonder and sister, Genevieve McCulley. Those left to cherish her memory her twin sister, Darlene Lindquist of Aurora; three sisters, Janet Morrison of Santa Clara, California, Mary Tilley of Carson City, Nevada and Dorothy Smith of Lincoln and three brothers, Robert Sonder of Grand Island, Henry Hayes of Blaine, Washington and Leland Hayes of Paradise, California and many nieces and nephews. |
