Gwendolyn LongoGwendolyn Longo, age 84, of Aurora, died Monday, October 11, 2004, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 14th at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Pastor Bob Pier will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. OBITUARY: GWENDOLYN LONGO Gwendolyn Mae Longo, the daughter of William and Agnes (Toole) Jensen, was born on a farm near Stockham, Nebraska on May 11, 1920 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on October 11, 2004, at the age of 84. She attended the Stockham schools and enjoyed the friendships at her school and Sunday school. As a young woman, Gwen enjoyed visiting her grandfather in Springfield, Missouri. During those years she chose to accept the Christian faith. After graduating from high school in 1938, Gwen provided childcare for a family in Lincoln for several years. Gwen married Horace Longo in 1945 and lived for a number of years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she had a family. In later years, Gwen resided in nursing homes and especially benefited from the care given to her at the Bethesda Nursing Home, Coleridge Center in Palmer, and most recently at the Aurora Hamilton Manor. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Don Traudt Gwen is survived by her three children, William Joseph (Patricia) Longo of Ord, Tracy Lee (Weilai) Longo of Thailand and Diane Kay (John) Gonzalez of Chesapeake, Virginia; 5 grandchildren, William Longo, Jr. of Omaha, Christopher Longo of Cozad, Jeff Gonzalez of Miamisburg, Ohio, Kathleen Garrett of Gerrards Town, West Virginia and Suzanne Gonzalez of Orlando, Florida and cousins, Dona Jo (Bob) Pier of Aurora and Dee (Sande) Traudt of St. Paul, Minnesota. |
