Mary Luff
Mary Luff, age 104, died Saturday, October 23, 2004, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Rev. Pam Ciulla will officiate. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to the church. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: MARY LUFF Mary E. Luff, the daughter of Andrew and Christina Nelson was born in Letchers, South Dakota on November 16, 1899 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on October 23, 2004, at the age of 104. She spent her early years in South Dakota, before the family moved to Iowa. Mary was united in marriage to H. Fred Luff on July 20, 1918, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. They farmed near Marquette. Fred died in October 1964. Mary was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Over the years Mary was very active in a lot of church activities. Mary had a way of attracting a lot of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Eugene and twelve brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jim (Bette) Luff of Marquette; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Luff of Grand Prairie, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Connie (Lawrence) Cordeiro of Delaware, Lee (Cindy) Luff of South Carolina, Nancy (George) Curl of Texas, Thomas (Debra) Luff of Minden, Coral Lea (Jeff) Jacobsen of Marquette, Bonita (Greg) Chaney of Minnesota and Michael (Michelle) Luff of Kearney; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. |
