OBITUARY: Jill Luthy

Jill Marie Luthy, the daughter of Gerald and Fern (Peard) Huffman, was born at Denver, Colorado, on April 9, 1958, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on August 29, 1997, at the age of 39 years, 4 months, and 20 days.

She grew up and received her education in Denber, and graduated from Ranum High School in 1976. Following her graduation she was employed at Village Inn in Denver, and form 1978 until 1981, she was a flight attendant for United Airlines.

On December 5, 1981, she was united in marriage to Greg Luthy at Aurora. They farmed northwest of Aurora. Jill was a Nutri-Systems counselor for 7 years, later attended Central Community College in Grand Island and became a sign language interpreter for ESU #9 for 4 and one-half years in Aurora’s kindergarten thru 4th grades, and also interpreted for P.A.L.S. for 2 years.

Jill was a member of the Aurora First Christian Church, and belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was currently actively involved in Distinguished Youth of America.

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Edith Luthy, and grandparents.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Greg of Aurora; one son Britian and one daughter Jessica both at home; 2 sisters, Julie Dahlke and her husband Martin of Lincoln, and Jan Weigum and her husband Kevin of Lakewood, Colorado; her parents Gerald and Fern Huffman of Denver, Colorado; her father-in-law Norm Luthy and his wife JoAnn of Aurora; a brother-in-law Jeff Luthy and his wife Terri of Aurora; and a sister-in-law Sue Nelson and her husband Doug of Burke, Virginia; a nephew Zachary Weigum, and nieces Kaitlyn Dahlke, Jennifer and Megan Nelson, many aunts and uncles and cousins.
