Josephine MabonFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 27, 1992 at the Phillips United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Josephine Mabon Selma Josephine Mabon, the daughter of Joseph and Charlotte (Roberts) Littlefield, was born at Litchfield, Nebraska, on June 13, 1896, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 23, 1992, at the age of 95 years, 7 months, and 10 days. When she was at an early age, the family moved to Aurora, and she was educated in Aurora, and graduated from Aurora High School in 1914. Following graduation she taught school for a few years, and then was employed at the “Hub” Department Store in Aurora. On August 25, 1920, she was united in marriage to W. Clarence Mabon, in Aurora. To this union 6 children were born. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1971. Her entire life was spent in Hamilton County, where they farmed in the Phillips area. Since 1974, she has resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Josephine was a member of the Phillips United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. She was also a charter member of the M.O. Club and the T.P.M. Extension Club, and was Past Matron of the Phillips Chapter #204 Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, a grandson, and 2 sisters, and 4 brothers. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 4 sons, W. Clarence, Jr., of Rapid City, South Dakota, Robert of Phillips, Merlin of Carter, Lake Iowa and Irl of Monument, Colorado; one daughter, J. Marise Hopkins, of Grand Island; 15 grandchildren and 3 step-great great grandchildren. |
