Edward Madison

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 7, 1996 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Richland Cemetery in Marquette, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Edward Madison

Edward Joseph Madison, the son of Henry and Anna Marie (Hanson) Madison, was born at Sebeka, Minnesota, on May 25, 1915, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska on February 5, 1996, at the age of 80 years, 8 months, and 10 days.

He grew up near Sebeka, Minnesota where he attended school and worked on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Army from June of 1942 until September of 1944, during which he spent one year and 2 months in the Army Station Hospital at Camp Carson, Colorado. Following his discharge, Ed moved to Donnelly, Minnesota.

On October 1, 1946, he was united in marriage to Irma Ebert Berggren at LaVern, Minnesota. They lived at Donnelly, Minnesota where Ed owned and operated a service station and garage. He also served as town mayor and police chief at Donnelly, and as American Legion commander in Morris, Minnesota. They retired to Aurora, Nebraska in July of 1991, where Ed was active in Lions Club and as a volunteer at the Plainsman Museum.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Art Madison and one sister Irene Gulbrandson.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Irma, 2 sons Bill Madison of Bismark, North Dakota and Dale Berggren of Wilminton, North Carolina; 2 dauthers Ina Jo Meyer of Albert Lee, Minnesota and Norma McKeehan of Tucson, Arizona, 1 brother Elmer Madison of Chokio, Minnesota, one sister Ida Lawson of Alberta, Minnesota, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
