Hilda Madsen

Hilda Madsen, age 90, formerly of Hampton, died Thursday, February 8, 2007, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 10th at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Chris Kester Beyer will officiate. Inurnment will be in the United Lutheran Cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: HILDA MADSEN

Hilda Marie Madsen, the daughter of Hans M. and Lydia B. (Henriksen) Madsen, was born in Hampton, Nebraska on March 26, 1916 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on February 8, 2007, at the age of 90.

She grew up in the Hampton area, where she attended School District #8 and graduated from Hampton High School in 1933. Hilda attended Dana College in Blair for one year and taught at rural schools.

Hilda was united in marriage to Kermit T. Madsen on May 26, 1939. Kermit passed away on March 25, 1970. She worked as school secretary in Hampton for 23 years before retiring in 1986.

Hilda was an active member of the United Lutheran Church in Hampton. She loved to volunteer and especially liked visiting nursing homes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Clark Ziegenhorn and four brothers, Earl, Harry, Archie and Raymond Madsen and two sisters, Agnes Petersen and Alice Madsen.

Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Marilyn Ziegenhorn of Papillion, Ann (Robert) Jorgensen of Aurora and Galen (Janet) Madsen of Lincoln; 7 grandchildren, Mark Ziegenhorn, Brian (Julie) Ziegenhorn, Carla (John) Jacobs, Deborah (Randy) Howell, JoHanna (Scott) Buchholz, Marta Madsen and Hans Madsen; 9 great-grandchildren, David, Laura and Bobby Jacobs, Isaac, Keenan, Quentin and Hannah Howell and Joseph and Danielle Ziegenhorn; a sister, Norma Kamtz of Lincoln and several nieces and nephews.
