Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 18, 1998 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg, Nebraska. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Mathilda Madsen

Mathilda Madsen, the daughter of Soren and Anna (Kjeldsen) Sorensen, was born in Denmark on March 28, 1905, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 15, 1998, at the age of 92 years, 10 months, and 17 days.

She received her education at Marquette, and attended one year at Grand View College, in Des Moines, Iowa.

On May 26, 1939, she was united in marriage to Mads K. Madsen, at Kronborg. They lived in Iowa for 3 years, and then returned to farm in the Marquette area, until her husband died on December 9, 1966. In 1970 she moved to the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Mathilda was confirmed on April 13, 1919, and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother Svend Sorensen, and a sister Marie Hansen.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Rueben and his wife Barbara of Minneville, Oregon, and a brother Christian K. Sorensen and his wife Jean of Marquette, and several nieces and nephews.
