Milton Madsen

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 29, 1984 at the Aurora Federated Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Milton Roosevelt Madsen

Milton Roosevelt Madsen, the son of Mads and Anna (Oline) Madsen, was born at Heartwell, Nebraska, on July 25, 1906, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 26, 1984, at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 1 day.

He grew up and attended school at Heartwell. In December of 1924 he moved to Hastings, Nebraska and was employed at the Dutton-Laison Company. In September of 1925 he moved to Trenton, Nebraska where he served as superintendent for municipal Light and Power Company.

On September 5, 1933, Milton was united in marriage to Lucille Taylor at Trenton, Nebraska.

In July of 1944 he came to Aurora as a Lineman/Foreman for Consumer’s Public Power and was later appointed manager for the company in Aurora. He retired in 1971.

Milton was past member of the Aurora City Council, member of the Aurora Cemetery Board; He received the 1977 Ak-Sar-Ben Good Neighbor award 1978 Chamber of Commerce Humanitarian Award.

He was a member of the Aurora Lodge #68 A.F. & A.M., the O.E.S. #93 Deuel Chapter #11 Royal Arch Masons and the Aurora Federated Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother; brothers Jasper and Roy Madsen; and sister Marie Podewitz

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Lucille of Aurora; sons, Kent Madsen of Aurora; daughter Celia (Wayne) Ganow of Hastings; brothers Victor Madsen of Trenton, Nebraska and Walter Madsen of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister Nellie Madsen and 4 grandchildren.
