Mollie Mankin

Mollie Mankin, age 88, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Giltner, died Sunday Morning, November 26, 2006, at Wildwood Care Center in Tulsa.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 1st at the United Methodist Church in Giltner. Rev. Marta Wheeler and Rev. Paul Nauman will officiate. Interment will be in the Giltner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Giltner United Methodist Church or the Christian Resource Center. OBITUARY: MOLLIE MANKIN

Mollie J. Mankin, the daughter of Jacob and Margaret (Bauer) Michel, was born in Sedgwick, Colorado on June 23, 1918 and died in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 26, 2006, at the age of 88.

Mollie received her education in Sedgwick, Colorado and moved to Nebraska with her parents in 1937.

On May 6, 1939, she was united in marriage to James E. Williams at Wood River, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1945 in France during World War II. To this union was born two children, Sharon and Gary.

On April 4, 1951, she was united in marriage to Wilbur R. “Pete” Mankin at Bellevue, Nebraska. They resided on a farm near Giltner, Nebraska after their marriage. Mollie was a cook for the Giltner Schools for five years. Wilbur passed away on September 30, 1999.

Mollie was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church where she was active in various church and community activities.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James and Wilbur, her parents, four sisters, five brothers and two great-grandchildren.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son, Gary Williams and his wife Verla of Edinburg, TX, and daughter, Sharon Schmidt and her husband Gilbert of Jenks, OK; 8 grandchildren, Kevin Williams and his wife Tracy of Giltner, Todd Williams and his wife Marilyn of Doniphan, Craig Williams and his wife Lori of Seward, Rick Williams and his wife Shelly of Lincoln, Robert Schmidt and his wife Lisa of Jackson, TN, Candace Gaede and her husband David of Springfield, MO, Kim Armstrong and her husband Mike of Bristow, OK, and Christina Burrell and her husband Jeremy of Riverside, CA; and 24 great grandchildren.
