Clinton Marr

Clinton J. "CJ" Marr, Jr., age 72, a long time resident of Doniphan, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Doniphan United Methodist Church. Rev. James Johnson of Doniphan and Rev. Denny Silk of Omaha will officiate. Interment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery earlier Friday morning. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M., Thursday at Doniphan United Methodist Church. OBITUARY: CLINTON J. MARR

Clinton J. Marr, the son of Clinton J. and Gertie A. (Johnson) Marr, Sr., was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on May 9, 1929 and died in Doniphan, Nebraska on July 10, 2001, at the age of 72 years.

Clinton attended school in the Norfolk area until his family moved to Hastings where he graduated from High School in 1947.

Mr. Marr worked with livestock most of his life. He was a ranch hand and worked as a logger in Colorado and Wyoming until moving back to the Hastings area in 1960. At this time, he helped design and build what is now known as the Juniata Feed Yard, where he worked for many years. He also enjoyed auctioneering, particularly, at the Prosser Auction for over 20 years. He was a coast to coast truck owner-operator for the last 15 years until his illness forced his retirement.

Clint was united in marriage to Betty Silk Pfeiffer on May 13, 1979 in Central City. They each brought 5 children to this union.

C.J. was a member of the Doniphan United Methodist Church. He was a 4-H Horse Project Leader for many years.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents.

Clinton is survived by his wife, Betty of Doniphan; a brother, Max of Loveland, Colorado; three daughters, JoElla (Thomas) Ruhter of Detroit, Michigan, Jenny Marr of Laramie, Wyoming and Wendy (Mitch) Beal of Columbus; two sons, Drew J. (Janelle) Marr of Ashland and Jeffery (Paula) Yoachim of Kearney; stepchildren, Holly (Scott) Munger of Juniata, Mark (Kim) Pfeiffer of Trumbull, Suzanne Pfeiffer of Doniphan, Kimberly (Larry) Snavely of Minden and Kipp Pfeiffer of Trumbull; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
