Rose Martin, age 71, of Aurora, formerly of Hebron, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.

OBITUARY: ROSE MARTIN
Rose Ann Martin, the daughter of Charles Harvey and Alta May (Mills) Scott, was born in Verdel, Nebraska on December 13, 1937 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on December 17, 2008, at the age of 71.
Rose grew up in Verdel. She attended school in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Rose was married to Ralph Ekis in 1955. They lived in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Rose then married George Martin. They lived in Belevidere. Rose worked as a nurse’s aide at the Blue Valley Care Home in Hebron for 15 years.
Rose loved to give hugs, she would not let you leave without a hug and a “God bless you.” She loved to be a mother or grandmother to all those she encountered. Rose was a giver, not a taker. Rose was a collector of many different things. She enjoyed fishing and collecting rocks.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, son, Troy Martin; daughter, Pearl Ekis; sister, Violet Ebson and two brothers, Harvey Scott and Lloyd Scott.
Those left to cherish her memory are her five sons, Ralph Ekis of Hebron, Earl Martin of Hebron, Randy (Lorie) Martin of Gering, George (Edith) Martin of Geneva and Charles (Teresa) Martin of Spalding; four daughters, Roberta (Brad) Buchanan of Aurora, Alta (James) Paugh of Belevidere, Melinda Martin of San Diego and Georgianne (Jeff) Glahn of Urbandale, Iowa; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Rose has six siblings, John Scott, Earl Scott, Gene Scott, Marvin Scott, Karen Ferneau and Fern Wasserburger and many nieces and nephews.
